What have I learnt?
Watching the previous years music videos i have realized that there were some aspects to filming a music video that need to be done well in order for it to look professional, firstly some of the videos had really bad quality filming which brought down the video, secondly the use of a story line wasn't very effective as i feel it made the video look unprofessional and cheesy. Lastly some of the transitions and special effects were done to a poor standard making the video lack in excitement and look cheap. In contrast the majority of the music videos had good lip syncing which was perfectly in time, secondly most of the outside locations looked very effective as the natural lighting really compliment the filming. Lastly the range of shots were good in most of the videos which helped to add excitement and look visually appealing.

Evaluation of tester video

For our tester video Rianna and I created a music video to the song "Candy" by Cameo, we chose this song as it was a very special song to both me and Rianna as it brought back fond memories of my shubz.

The song Candy is very upbeat and lively, we used a Youtube tutorial by Duchess Danzy to help us learn the correct steps for the official Candy dance. When it came to filming we used a tripod to get full body and mid shots of ourselves as we danced to the beat. This was successful as we were in synch and on time to the beat. When it came to editing we used transitions such as wipe and box slide to cut from one part of the dance to the other this helped to add to the effects of the song as it enhanced the rhythm and captured the beat. We used the tint effect to chance the background colour and make it look funky so it could match the song and era.
There where a few issues with our video, firstly we lost our footage and had to re-film it quickly making it not be up to the standard we would of hoped for. Secondly we used to many effects in the short space of time making it look cheap and cheesy. Lastly We didn't use a range of shots which made the video lack excitement.
Overall we have learnt that for our final video we will have to make sure it is a lot better and uses only a few effects and transitions that compliment each other. In addition with the shots we need to use a variety to make sure the audience stay hooked.

After trying out the transition features and effects I would like to use these in my music video project. I have learnt how to use the reflection techniques and I fee; confident enough to use this in my next video. Although I need to better myself in some areas and improve some of the colour palettes options I choose for the background in order for it to look professional.
